During this festive winter season wrapping up 2022, we offer some of the key and precious U.S. coins, deeply discounting the price for imperfect specimens awarded a Details grade.  For the collector who enjoys bargains or might have hesitated at acquiring a special coin at market trend price, we intend to place more coins within an easier acquisition range, affording an opportunity to acquire a special key piece.

1859-O Seated Liberty dollar, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC
as AU details, for cleaning.
It was cleaned, as were most Seated Liberty dollars; but at least the job was gently done, leaving the coin with its details showcased in brilliance.
This silver dollar, pre-Morgan, was just the third of the New Orleans Mint's four years, here and there, it would mint dollars before before the Civil War and the temporarily closing of the mint.  Because of this sporadic minting, the 1859-O dollar has been one of those desired coins for type collectors and also enthusiasts of what was still Early American history.
Mint State 1859-O dollars have higher grades, but are usually heavily bagmarked from rough storage practices over the decades, even as they stayed out of circulation.  So, these circulated 1859-Os, even if a small cleaning attempt was made, end up looking less beat and more original.
This coin circulated some, but not heavily, and was apparently set aside and saved during the Civil War and afterwards, until deposited in a bank or saved for a collection as Morgan dollars began to arrive in circulation.  We don't know these things exactly and so they will remain part of the coin's mystery.  The Real Deal, scarce and sought-after 1859-O Seated Liberty dollar is offered for you here!
