    Title:
VINTAGE WWI British Recruiting Poster SPORTSMAN BATTALION'S Wrecked Zeppelin
    Description
:Up for sale is this EXTRAORDINARY WWI British Recruiting Poster. From the only other listing that I could find: "The Sportsmen Battalion was a battalion comprised of men who had made their name in football, cricket, boxing, etc., an extension of the so-called "Pals" battalions. The daring pilot pictured on this poster is almost certainly William Leefe Robinson, the first British pilot to shoot down an airship over Britain during WWI. On September 3, 1916 Robinson shot down a German Schütte- Lanz type airship which crashed at Cuffley. Robinson was awarded the Victoria Cross, Britain's highest military award. The poster encourages men to "Follow His Lead and join the Sportsman's Battalion"." The person on the poster is REGINOLD REX WARNEFORD "Reckless Rex". VC stands for the Victorian Cross. It appears as though this poster has been provessionally mounted. Because of the size of the frame that this is mounted in, the shipping is expensive. If you purchase this item, I would be willing to evaluate if the poster can safely be removed and shipped loosely rolled. This should reduce shipping costs significantly and make shipment more safe.
This is a MUST HAVE for your collection! BUY IT WHEN YOU SEE IT! DON'T MISS OUT!
    Size :
This poster has the edges under the Matt. The EXPOSED portion of the Poster is: 29 1/2" x 19 1/4" so I would assume the total dimension of the poster is proabably 30" x 20"

    Shipping and Handling Costs:
    We attempt
to make a fair guess as to US shipping rates in order to allow for buyer to judge total cost while bidding. The shipping method could be FEDEX or USPS (United States Postal Service) whichever is more economical for us, for this reason you may be required to provide a physical address that can be utilized by FEDEX and not a PO Box if the situation warrants. The bidders will be responsible for paying the specified amount.  The costs are only applicable to the contiguous 48 states.  If multiple items are purchased, a reduced shipping cost will be provided when possible.
Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. Territories Buyers:
Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and non-continental U.S. Territories will be calculated after purchase and may require additional shipping cost.
If you would like a shipping estimate prior to purchase, please feel free to contact us.

    A little bit about us:
Hello, we are antiques and collectible dealers who find most of our items at garage sales, auctions, and flea markets.  We are not experts on many of the items which we sell, but we do try to provide you with detailed descriptions and whatever research / knowledge we have on it.   We have been collecting for over 30 years now and have many items in our inventory (i.e. lovingly packed in boxes which have not seen the light of day for many years). We have a little bit of everything so please view our other listings. We try our best to accurately describe all items but please view photos as they are the best representation of condition. If you are unsatisfied please contact us before leaving negative feedback. Thanks for viewing and happy bidding!!!!
Ours is a smoke free home, but many of our items are purchased second hand and we do not know the situations where they have previously been stored.  If we notice the smell of smoke, we do mention it under condition.
