Condition: The metal still sports it's flat black finish, and showing no significant signs of wear. At the curve, above the engraved lettering, there are some slight abrasions that cut into the black finish, causing the beginnings of some light rust. The snap on the cover is in great shape. The cover itself is amazing. Inside the cover, the factory installed wood block is still stapled in place, that fits the gauges cavity, and keeps the butt in place. The gauge seemingly was hardly ever removed from the vinyl covering, leaving both in excellent+ shape. See all photos.

I'm going to guess, this 3" Butt gauge was a gift to the owner, or the owner bought this and used it once! My condition report almost says it all. I've discovered that the 3 inch gauge is not that common. It is 3' wide, and 2 3/4 " tall. This guy weighs in at 3.28 oz. This is a time capsule for sure. A great addition to your tool collection.
